Week 15 – Resolutions Don’t Work

My Journey Within and Without

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.            ~II Corinthians 4:13

This is the first week of 2018. The beginning of a new year is my favorite time of the year. Its great time of reflection and intention for me. Thinking back to my intention at the beginning of the previous year, refocusing and evaluating my intent for the following year. Sometimes When I look back on the previous year, I don’t like what I see. Things I began and didn’t follow through with, the extra inches my waist seems to have found, relationships that I didn’t nurture as I had planned or business opportunities I didn’t follow through on.

Difficulties, inharmonies and obstacles indicate that we are either refusing to give out what no longer need or refusing to accept…

Week 5 – I am what I think about

My Journey Within and Without

The mortar and cement of my past holds tightly. It is what I refer to as the old blue print. I dare to chip away through the feeding and training of my mind. Through prayer, meditation, mental conditioning and changing the patterns of my thinking. It is said what you think about you bring about. While that may be cliche, it is true. The movie What the bleep do we know explains the science behind this.

As a man thinks

Breaking the patterns of negative thought is about changing the imprints of the self conscience mind. Why is it that when we are children we are told we can become whatever we want to be but later we are told to be like everybody else?

Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever it pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is praiseworthy, think on such things.  ~Philippians 4:8

Week 14-Universal Substance

Universal Substance is the source of all Power, Wisdom and Intelligence. We learn that there is mind in every atom of the body. This mind is negative mind and the power of the individual to think makes him positive, so he can control this negative mind. This negative mind, which is contained in every cell of the body, has been called the subconscious mind, because it acts without our conscious knowledge. This subconscious mind is responsive  to the will of the conscious mind. The subconscious is the connecting link between the Universal Mind and the conscious mind.

I seemed to have lost my connection to add pictures to my blog.

My world without is a reflection of my world within. The advice to learn to keep the door shut, keep out of my mind and and out of my world, every element that seeks admittance with no definite helpful end in view is excellent.

The power of the individual to think is his ability to act upon the Universal and bring formation of phenomena into manifestation.

Week 13-The Day of the Dreamer Has Come

We now know that thinking is a spiritual process. Only things dreamers make live on. It explains the law of causation, the law by which the thing pictured in our mind eventually becomes our own.

Thoughts are causes and conditions are effects. In giving thoughts of courage, inspiration, health or help of any kind, we are setting causes in motion which will bring about their effect. We can then see how important it is when Mark says ” give a gift to everyone we meet.”

I love the modern idea is to know that we are entitled to the best of everything. #20 says  ” the Father and I are one” and that the “Father”  is the Universal mind, the Creator, the Original Substance from which all things proceed.”  The Universal Substance  is Omnipresent, Omnipotent, and Omniscient.

Week 12-Knowledge Does Not Apply Itself

So, the title is telling us it that there is work to be done. Just learning or knowing something  is not enough. There is more to the equation. We must make application and the application consists in fertilizing the thought with a living purpose.

The knowledge of our power is first, then second is the courage to dare and then third is is the faith to do. We are learning about the power of thought.  We all have the power to think and do not realize what power that is. My ppns are liberty and true health. Haanal says the “the only independence is found to be a practical working knowledge of the creative power of thought.”  I would think that independence would be part of liberty.

The compass and magnifying glass are great tools for us.

Thought impregnated with love becomes invincible! Wow! This combination forms the irresistible force, called the law of attraction. It is in the Silence that we get into touch with the Omnipotent power of the subconscious mind from which all power is evolved.

I feel so blessed and grateful to be part of this class.

Week 11-Creative Power of Thought

“What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” ( Mark 11:24)  We are first to believe that our desire has  has already been fulfilled, its accomplishment will then follow.  This is a concise direction for making use of the creative power of thought by impressing on the Universal subjective mind, the particular thing which we desire as an already existing fact.

Somewhere I have a saying from positive intelligence.com:

“Your vision of who you want to be is your greatest asset.”

Too bad this is not taught in school or as a parent  I did not know. However, my grandchildren know it.

Week 10-Live By Intention

The Universal Mind can be depended upon to find the ways and means for bringing about any necessary manifestation. We must create the ideal and this ideal must be perfect.

Is this not powerful!  Therefore, I realize the importance to live by intention.  When I go for a massage, I am asked, “What is your intent?”  When I went to my energy healing chiropractor, I would be asked, “What is your intent?”  When I went for my angel reading, I was asked, “What is your intent?”

There is a message here for me. I had better listen.

Week 9-Stink bugs and Butterflies

Usually this time of year, box elder bugs are every where. This year we have been inundated with stink bugs. How they get into the house is a mystery. They are every where. It was suggested the only was to get rid of the stink bugs was to put them into soapy water.  I took a picture of one with the wings out and was amazed with the beautiful design. Now I have been picking them up and throwing them out side.  Maybe they find their  way back in.

(Years ago I found a mouse in the dog’s food bin. I put some nail polish on his back and released the mouse out side. One day later the same mouse was in the food bin again.)

I have asked the stink bugs to leave and they keep showing me they are here.

BRIGHT SPOT!  Thanksgiving day my granddaughters came over to help prepare. A butterfly (hoping it was not a moth) was flying about in my house under the 8 foot skylight. It landed. There were three up near the skylight. We got the ladder and my granddaughter was able to catch them with a cup and release outside. I have really enjoyed the butterflies especially when I found out they are a White Cabbage butterfly. I found out that they were brought into my home by me when I brought in the kale plants that I brought in from my garden. I started pulling the leaves apart and found a butterfly. I picked it up to take over to the sponge I had in sugar water. Well, it fell into the water. I pulled it out and put it on the counter. After a bit, it was on the floor. I then tried putting food for it trying to save it…..do you hear me? I was trying to save the butterfly. It did not work. I was able to release some outside. Six of them stayed to far up under the skylight. One day I was able to get 2 in a cup and took them outside. One flew out and the other flew down and landed on my sock. I came back inside sat down  and left the door open. It crawled around my foot and then flew out the door.  It has been a joyous experience to have such a delicate creature here.

Meanwhile, the stink bugs are still here and keep appearing especially in my office. Each day fewer come to greet me. Very interesting. I am finding more dead ones also.

Maybe someone has some answers, I do not.

Week 8 – Choices

Choices and connections… “Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming.”

Wow! Coach Wooden, I have a ways to go. The good news is I am working on it. Focus is often a challenge for me. For what ever reason, I would get side tracked. I would often have 16 things on my plate. I’d start on something and remember something else would like my attention. I often would  try to put 10 lbs. into a 5 lb. bag.  My reading will get interrupted and time gets filled. The day is gone and I finally get back to my reading.

I am making better choices. I am choosing what to do when most of the time. I don’t feel so scattered. And I do start every day with love in my heart. This course is demanding and I am sooo grateful for it. Thank you!

Going back in time was interesting as I did it with the kale I brought in from the garden to save it from the cold. I followed back to the farmer who  had picked the seeds. Wait! Where are the seeds to gather on the kale?? We need seed to manifest the kale that I am eating every day. I will have to ask Google. and I did. Only to find out that kale is biennial (lasts 2 years).  It said to take one kale plant and overwinter in hoop house. Had to go to google again ’cause hoop house was not in my dictionary.  In the spring let it flower and go to seed. Cut it down when leaves start getting brown, hang it upside down to dry for months. When fully dry and pods are almost bursting, stick the entire plant into a pillow case. I never knew. Always fun to learn new things.

Week 7

I just read Mark’s post and find the reference to the Tower of Babel very interesting. I had never thought of it like that. To me it helps to bring it into my own life.  Confusion? I am having trouble visualizing. Studying my late brother’s face, I can almost see it. It is like it is there but will not come to the front. I will keep practicing until I see it clearly. I wonder what it means. I have visualized things before. Maybe it is a matter of relaxing. Maybe I am trying too hard. Maybe I want to try another picture. It is a puzzlement to me.
